Turning 65?
Medicare doesn't have to be confusing. Here's everything you need to know — and our guidance is always free.
Important: Don't Miss Your Enrollment Window
Your Initial Enrollment Period is only 7 months long. Missing it can result in permanent late enrollment penalties that increase your premiums for life. Contact us before your 65th birthday to make sure you're on track.
Understand Your Initial Enrollment Period
You have a 7-month window to enroll in Medicare — 3 months before your 65th birthday month, your birthday month, and 3 months after. Missing this window can result in permanent late enrollment penalties.
Decide Between Original Medicare & Medicare Advantage
Original Medicare (Parts A & B) gives you flexibility to see any doctor. Medicare Advantage (Part C) bundles coverage and often adds extra benefits. We'll help you compare both.
Add Drug Coverage (Part D)
If you choose Original Medicare, you'll need a standalone Part D plan for prescriptions. Most Medicare Advantage plans already include drug coverage.
Consider a Medicare Supplement (Medigap)
If you choose Original Medicare, a Medigap plan can cover your out-of-pocket costs. Your Medigap Open Enrollment Period is the best time to enroll — insurers can't deny you or charge more due to health.
Review Your Coverage Annually
Medicare plans change every year. During the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7), review your coverage to make sure it still fits your needs and budget.
